Peter Odemwingie threatens legal action over 2013 transfer saga

Former Nigerian international striker Peter Odemwingie has announced intentions to pursue legal action against Sky Sports, West Bromwich Albion, and Queens Park Rangers regarding a failed transfer in January 2013.

Odemwingie expressed frustration over the frequent replaying of footage from the deadline-day incident, during which he traveled to QPR’s Loftus Road stadium under the impression that his move from West Brom had been finalized. He accused Sky Sports of “deliberate exploitation” and “wickedness,” claiming the broadcaster has profited from the saga for over a decade without seeking the truth.

The striker stated that his then-agent, Barry McIntosh, had assured him the deal was complete before they drove toward the stadium. The transfer ultimately collapsed when the two clubs failed to agree on a fee before the deadline. Odemwingie also criticized QPR for auctioning a shirt prepared for his arrival and indicated he would be meeting with a lawyer to formalize his claims.
