Peter Pellegrini delivers state of the republic report to Slovak Parliament

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini delivered his annual report on the state of the republic to the National Council. While the speech identified various societal tensions and challenges, including economic consolidation and foreign policy directions, critics have noted a lack of concrete solutions to the issues presented.

Publicist Juraj Hrabko commented that while the President identified problems, he did not propose specific ways to resolve them. The report also touches upon the deepening division within the country.

In a separate political development, President Pellegrini is set to address a proposal from Prime Minister Robert Fico to dismiss Environment Minister Tomáš Taraba. The President indicated he will handle the matter following his return from a working trip to the United States. Under the constitution, the President holds the authority to decide on the dismissal of government members.
