Peter Plate discusses grief over AnNa R. and fear of death
Singer Peter Plate, co-founder of the musical duo Rosenstolz, spoke emotionally during an appearance on the WDR talk show ‘Kölner Treff’ regarding the death of his long-time musical partner, AnNa R.
Plate, who noted that AnNa R. passed away in March 2025, shared that he is still struggling to overcome the loss. He also expressed a personal fear of death, stating, ‘I also have fear of death.’
As a way to process his grief and express gratitude, Plate incorporated several Rosenstolz hits into his musical production ‘Romeo und Julia – Liebe ist alles,’ which he co-wrote with Ulf Leo Sommer. The musical premiered in April 2023. Additionally, Plate and Sommer previously served as artistic directors of the Theater des Westens in Berlin for a period of six years.
