Peter Rüscher appointed head of Vorarlberg State Traffic Department
Colonel Peter Rüscher has been officially appointed as the head of the State Traffic Department of the Vorarlberg State Police Directorate. While he had already assumed the leadership of the department in February 2026, his formal appointment took place on September 22, 2026.
Rüscher succeeds Colonel Rudolf Salzgeber. The appointment was formalized through a decree presented by State Police Director Uta Bachmann and Security Councilor Markus Klien. Rüscher brings extensive experience to the role, having served as the deputy head of the department for 22 years since May 2004.
