Peter Schiff predicts Bitcoin lows despite recent gains
Financial commentator Peter Schiff expressed surprise that Bitcoin has maintained its recent gains while gold has surrendered its post-rally increases. Schiff noted that Bitcoin rose from approximately $60,000 to nearly $85,000 following the U.S. Treasury's announcement to double its long-dated bond buybacks to at least $4 billion per operation. In contrast, gold spiked toward $4,700 before cooling to around $4,000.
Despite Bitcoin's current strength, Schiff anticipates the cryptocurrency will eventually test new lows once the current technology-driven stock rally loses momentum. He also identified the upcoming November 3 midterm elections as a potential political headwind, suggesting that Washington could become more hostile toward the industry.
Regarding corporate activity, Schiff characterized MicroStrategy's recent Bitcoin acquisition patterns as ‘window dressing,’ noting the company previously sold Bitcoin to fund preferred stock dividends before resuming small-scale purchases.
