Peter Švec remains chairman of the Club of Slovak Tourists

Peter Švec remains the chairman of the Club of Slovak Tourists (KST) after a scheduled general assembly in Žilina failed to convene. The 30th general assembly, called by the chairwoman of the KST control commission, Katarína Žákovičová, could not begin because delegates failed to approve the meeting's agenda.

To approve the program, at least 44 out of 87 present delegates' votes were required, but the proposal received support from only 35 votes. The proposed agenda included a motion to remove Švec from his position and discussions regarding the termination of lease agreements for Téryho chata in the High Tatras and Chata M. R. Štefánika in the Low Tatras. The control commission had alleged breaches of contract regarding the protection of the lessors' reputations.

Švec stated that the proposed agenda points were aimed at paralyzing the organization and noted that delegates criticized the lack of necessary documentation provided for the meeting. Švec has held the presidency since 2024 and was reconfirmed for a four-year term earlier this June.
