Peter Weck makes rare public appearance at Vienna musical premiere

Austrian actor and director Peter Weck, 96, made a rare public appearance at the premiere of the Disney musical ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at the Raimund Theater in Vienna. Weck, who has largely withdrawn from public life in recent years, attended the event in a wheelchair accompanied by his partner, Joanna Rzepa.

Weck’s appearance is notable following a stroke he suffered in late summer 2022, which affected the right side of his body and impacted his ability to speak and walk. He has been in partnership with Rzepa since 2020. The veteran entertainer is well known for his roles in films such as ‘Sissi’ and for his television work in ‘Ich heirate eine Familie’ and ‘Wir machen Musik’.
