Peterborough United to host Burton Albion in League One clash

Peterborough United is set to host Burton Albion at the Weston Homes Stadium this Saturday for a League One fixture. Both teams are navigating challenging starts to the 2026-27 season.

Peterborough United enters the match following a significant 3-1 away victory against Leicester City, which marked their second consecutive win. Despite this recent success, the team has struggled with consistency, losing five of their opening nine league matches. They currently sit just above the relegation zone, separated only by goal difference. The squad has faced defensive difficulties, conceding fourteen goals in nine matches, though they have shown strength in cup competitions, progressing in the EFL Cup and EFL Trophy.

Burton Albion arrives after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Doncaster Rovers. While the Brewers have had a relatively stable start compared to previous seasons, they are looking to avoid the relegation battles that have characterized their recent League One campaigns. Historically, Peterborough has held an advantage in recent meetings, winning four of their last eight encounters against Burton.
