Peterson Pierre-Louis appointed president of Haiti's CEP
The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) in Haiti is undergoing a leadership transition as Peterson Pierre-Louis is designated to take over the presidency from Jacques Desrosiers. Despite the change at the head of the executive bureau, Desrosiers will remain within the institution serving as an advisor to ensure continuity.
Pierre-Louis, who previously served as the CEP secretary general and represents the reformed worship sector, is expected to maintain the momentum of ongoing electoral operations. This includes voter registration, candidate registration, and adherence to the electoral calendar.
The new executive bureau configuration includes Jaccéus Joseph as vice-president, Nemrod Sanon as secretary general, and Schnaïda Adély as treasurer. The primary challenge for the new leadership will be maintaining institutional stability while managing technical and administrative tasks for upcoming elections.
