Petőfi Literary Museum launches Péter Nádas memorial year

The Petőfi Literary Museum (PIM) has inaugurated a thematic year dedicated to the late author Péter Nádas. Under the title “If there is still a manuscript, there is printing,” the program includes exhibitions, reading clubs, and commemorative discussions.

The first event, a chamber exhibition titled “The Shadows of Light – Péter Nádas’s Parallel Stories,” opened on October 14 at the Károlyi Palace. Curated by Sándor Bazsányi, the exhibition explores the intersection of Nádas’s literary work and his original career as a photographer, utilizing photographic materials held by the museum.

Upcoming events include a discussion on October 29 featuring art historian Éva Forgács and painter Attila Szűcs, and a celebration on December 2 for the 40th anniversary of the book “Memoranda,” featuring actor Károly Hajduk. Additionally, the Hospice Foundation’s Alaine Polcz Academy plans a presentation on November 25 to reflect on Nádas’s life and works.
