Peti Municipal Environmental Station Forest celebrates 43 years with new website
The municipality of São Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo has launched an official website for the Peti Municipal Environmental Station Forest to mark the conservation unit's 43rd anniversary.
Spanning 515 hectares of preserved forest, the area serves as a hub for scientific research, environmental education, and biodiversity conservation. The new digital platform, developed by the Secretariat of Science and Technology in partnership with the Secretariat of the Environment, aims to increase public access to information regarding the site.
Features of the website include a 3D map of key locations, historical information, images, and a system for scheduling guided trail visits. The site uses the Pavó, a bird that symbolizes the forest, as a navigation element to guide users through the content.
