Přeštice: Three kittens found abandoned in transport box during heatwave

Three kittens were found abandoned in a transport box near trash bins in Přeštice during high temperatures reaching nearly 34 degrees Celsius. The animals were discovered by a local resident and reported to the animal welfare group Kočičí svět.

According to Vlastimila Suchá of Kočičí svět, the kittens were found in a soiled and odorous container, appearing extremely hungry and thirsty. The kittens have since been stabilized but must remain in mandatory quarantine for the next four months.

Police are currently investigating the incident. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from the site to identify the individual responsible for abandoning the animals. Representatives from the welfare group noted an increase in cases of animal cruelty and abandonment in the region.
