Petnjica marks municipal day as President Milatović pledges development

President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović congratulated the residents of Petnjica on the municipality’s anniversary on 4 August. He highlighted the historic identity of Bihor, praised the diaspora’s contribution, and called for long‑term, planned investment in infrastructure, agriculture and local entrepreneurship to keep young people in the area.

A formal session of the local parliament also commemorated the day, noting that Petnjica regained municipal status 13 years ago after a 2012 referendum. Local leaders Samir Agović and Mehmed Adrović reported a budget increase from €250 000 to €5.7 million and cited roughly €35 million in recent development projects funded by the government, diaspora, and international agencies, underscoring progress in roads, schools, sports facilities and support for vulnerable groups.
