Petr Pavel defends costs of private jet travel to Morocco

Czech President Petr Pavel has addressed questions regarding the costs of his recent private jet travel to Morocco, stating he paid approximately 18,750 euros (roughly 456,000 CZK) from his personal funds. He explained that his flight to Morocco on October 2 was a seat on a plane chartered by the Fesh Fesh team for the Rallye du Maroc, costing 3,750 euros, while his return flight from Casablanca cost 15,000 euros.

Despite these statements, political figures are demanding further transparency. Radek Koten of the SPD has called for clarity on the total costs, specifically whether taxpayer money was used to cover the travel expenses of the presidential security detail. Additionally, representatives from ANO have suggested the President should clarify who accompanied him on the trip.

The Prague Castle administration has stated that the President considers the matter closed and will not provide further comments or documentation, such as invoices, to verify the payments.
