Petr Trnka leads first training at Buzet Hill Climb
Czech driver Petr Trnka set the fastest time during the first training session of the 45th Buzet Hill Climb in Croatia. Driving a Nova Proto NP 01-2C, Trnka recorded a time of 2:16.872 on the 5.001-kilometer Most-Peničići track.
Trnka narrowly beat Spain's Joseba Iraola Lanzagorte by 0.070 seconds, while France's Kevin Petit secured the third fastest time with 2:18.240. Although the morning session began under sunny and dry conditions, rain arrived between training sessions, affecting the second round of practice.
The event serves as the tenth and decisive race for the FIA European Hill Climb Championship, the FIA CEZ Central European Zone Championship, and national championships for Croatia and Slovenia. The competition features 213 drivers from 17 countries participating in various categories, including modern vehicles and historic cars.
