Petra Vlhová discusses recovery from knee injury
Slovak alpine skier Petra Vlhová has discussed her recovery process following a significant knee injury that required surgery and a forced hiatus from competition. After competing in the Winter Olympics in Italy, she has been preparing for her return to the World Cup circuit.
Vlhová noted the difficulty of managing both physical pain and public scrutiny during her rehabilitation. She emphasized the importance of balancing intense training with scheduled recovery periods, known as “deload” phases, to maintain mental and physical well-being. She recently returned from a trip to Cyprus as part of this recovery strategy.
Addressing public speculation regarding her personal life, Vlhová clarified that her improved well-being is a result of her own happiness and focus on herself, rather than a new relationship.
