Petralia Sottana to host mountain therapy course in 2027
A mountain therapy course titled ‘Benessere in Quota – Vivere la Montagna come possibile strumento di Cura’ is scheduled to take place in June 2027 in Petralia Sottana, Italy. Held at the former convent of the Padri Riformati, the two-day theoretical and practical workshop aims to explore the use of mountain environments for therapeutic, educational, and rehabilitative purposes.
The program is accredited for Ecm (Continuing Medical Education) and will be taught by high-ranking officials from the Italian Society of Mountain Therapy (SIMonT), including President Roberta Sabbion. The course is designed for a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, psychologists, physiotherapists, social workers, and mountain experts, as well as qualified volunteers.
The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Petralia Sottana, the Fenice Association of Caltanissetta, and SIMonT National, in collaboration with Legacoop Sicilia and under the patronage of the Madonie Park Authority and the Cai Petralia Sottana section. Pre-registration and information sessions will be available during the Festa dei Sapori Madoniti from October 23 to 25.
