Petrarca Rugby launches youth open day and adds four Benetton players to squad

Petrarca Rugby hosted a special Open Day on 5 September at the Memo Geremia centre in Padova, inviting children born between 2013 and 2021 (girls up to 2015) to try rugby. The event ran in two sessions, 10:30‑12:30 and 15:00‑17:30, with a traditional third‑time break for a shared pasta meal. Registration was required via an online form, and a backup date of 6 September was set in case of bad weather.

For the upcoming Serie A Elite season, the club also announced the arrival of four young players from Benetton Rugby: Francesco Braga (2007, fly‑half), Giovanni Marzotto (2007, centre/wing), Ghershom Pieters (2007, South African second‑row who obtained Italian citizenship), and Henry Tasesa Volkmann (2005, Samoan second‑row). The signings are part of a broader youth‑focused renewal overseen by head coach Victor Jimenez and assistant coach Andrea Menniti‑Ippolito.
