Petráček celebrates 20 years of elite para swimming

Czech para swimmer Petráček is celebrating two decades at the elite level of international competition. Despite being born with congenital limb defects that led doctors to predict a lack of mobility, Petráček found freedom through swimming at a family pension in Lipno nad Vltavou.

He has been a consistent member of the Czech Paralympic team since his debut at the 2008 Beijing Games. His career highlights include a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Games, silver at the Tokyo 2021 Games, and bronze at the Paris Games. Specializing in the 50m backstroke in the S4 category, he remains motivated to continue competing, with the Los Angeles 2028 Games as his next major goal.
