Petrinja hosts record-breaking Planinarski kotlić goulash competition

The 6th Planinarski kotlić culinary competition was held at Hrastovička gora near the Matija Filjak mountain lodge. Organized by the HPD Zrin Petrinja and the Petrinja Tourist Board, the event saw a record participation of 15 competing teams.

Participants had four hours to prepare beef and wild boar goulash using only open wood fires. A judging panel led by chef David Skoko evaluated the dishes based on thickness, meat tenderness, aroma, color, and taste. The team ‘Karapandžićići’ secured first place in their debut appearance, followed by ‘Rođendanska ekipa’ in second and ‘Slavljenici’ in third.

Petrinja Mayor Magdalena Komes presented the awards, noting that such events are vital for promoting the natural beauty of the Petrinja region and fostering community unity. Officials highlighted that this year's event was the most visited to date.
