Petrobras accounts for over half of B3's top ten companies' profits
Petrobras accounted for 51.8% of the total net profit generated by the ten most profitable companies listed on the B3 during the second quarter of 2026. According to a survey by Elos Ayta, these top ten companies combined for R$ 101.2 billion in net profit, representing a 38.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Petrobras alone reported R$ 52.4 billion in profit, a 96.8% increase from the second quarter of 2025. This single-company result exceeds the combined profits of Itaú Unibanco, Bradesco, Vale, Itaúsa, BTG Pactual, Ambev, Braskem, Banco do Brasil, and Santander Brasil.
The data highlights an extreme concentration of profitability within the Brazilian market. When excluding Petrobras, the combined profit of the other nine leading companies grew by only 4.7%, rising from R$ 46.6 billion to R$ 48.8 billion.
