Petrobras considers R$ 300 million investment in Montes Claros biodiesel plant
Driven by rising international demand for clean energy sources, the production of biofuels is projected to increase by more than 70% over the current decade. In response to this global energy transition and decarbonization goals, the northern region of Minas Gerais is strengthening its strategic position.
Petrobras, through its subsidiary Petrobras Biocombustível (PBio), is studying a structural investment plan estimated at R$ 300 million. The plan aims to expand and modernize the biodiesel plant located in Montes Claros to meet new mandatory fuel blending requirements and international market demands.
