Petrobras reports record 14% rise in Q2 2026 oil and gas production
Petrobras said its total oil and gas output reached a record 3.34 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed) in the second quarter of 2026, up 14.1% from the same quarter a year earlier and 3.4% above the first quarter. Ten new producer wells began operating during the quarter, four in the Campos Basin and six in the Santos Basin. Export volumes grew to roughly 1 million barrels per day, while oil imports fell to 89 000 barrels per day, the lowest level since the pandemic. Refinery utilisation hit 101.2%.
In the first half of 2026 the company’s production rose 15.1% year‑on‑year to 3.281 million boed, and total sales increased 12.1%. Export shares shifted, with India’s share climbing to 22% and Europe’s to 18%, while China’s fell to 35%; new customers included Taiwan, Oman, Poland, Sweden and South Africa. The results were attributed to higher efficiency on the Maria Quitéria platform, improvements at the Jubarte and Mero fields and the start‑up of the FPSO P‑79 at Búzios.
