PetroChina facilities in Jambi safe after forest fires extinguished

Forest and shrub fires near the PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. oil and gas facilities in the Jabung Working Area, Jambi, have been successfully extinguished. Djoko Siswanto, head of SKK Migas, confirmed that the fires occurred near strategic infrastructure, including supply pipelines, but were quickly controlled to prevent further spread.

PetroChina deployed various resources to manage the situation in the Tanjung Jabung Barat and Tanjung Jabung Timur regencies, including fire trucks, vacuum trucks, portable fire pumps, and specialized personnel from health, safety, environment, security, and construction teams. The firefighting efforts specifically targeted areas around the NEB Station in Pematang Lumut. The incident comes amid an increase in fire threats in Jambi due to the dry season, with regional data indicating significant land area burned in the province earlier this year.
