Petrolimex partners with Ohmee to launch convenience stores at gas stations

Petrolimex has partnered with Ohmee, a brand owned by the Chinese convenience store chain Meiyijia, to pilot an integrated retail model at its gas stations in Vietnam. The first two Ohmee Express locations recently opened in Hanoi at the Petrolimex stations on Ngoc Hoi and Nguyen Quy Duc streets.

Designed for efficiency, the Ohmee Express outlets feature compact spaces with optimized shelving and quick-service counters for food and beverages. The model aims to serve commuters, delivery drivers, and long-distance travelers by allowing them to purchase essentials, snacks, and drinks while refueling. This strategy is part of Petrolimex’s goal to transition from traditional fuel points to comprehensive “energy and service” hubs.

The expansion comes as the Vietnamese convenience store market grows, with major players like Circle K, GS25, Ministop, FamilyMart, and 7-Eleven already operating hundreds of locations. With nearly 3,000 Petrolimex stations available, the integration of Ohmee Express presents a significant potential for scale compared to existing urban-based convenience chains.
