Petrolina electoral authorities announce voting location changes
The Electoral Court has announced changes to several voting locations in Petrolina, Pernambuco, ahead of the 2026 elections. Euclides Neto, the new Chief of the 83rd Electoral Zone, stated that these adjustments are being made due to structural requirements and voter demand following the closure of the electoral registry.
Key changes include the transfer of sections from Escola Antônio Cassimiro to Escola Lívia Cléa, and the relocation of sections from the N-6 school in the Senador Nilo Coelho irrigation perimeter to Escola Ricardo Soares. Additionally, a new voting location has been established at Escola Municipal Professora Barbara Maria Ribeiro Neta Santana in Cohab Massangano to accommodate regional demand. Voters are advised to check their updated locations via the e-Título app or the TSE website.
In a separate context regarding local political trends, historical data from the 2022 elections in Petrolina shows Lula (PT) receiving 65.31% of the presidential vote, while Miguel Coelho (UNIÃO) secured 73.41% for governor. In the senatorial race, Guilherme Coelho (PSDB) and Teresa Leitão (PT) led with 27.93% and 27.11% respectively.
