Petrolul draws 2-2 with Chindia Târgoviște in pre‑season friendly

In front of about 3,000 supporters at the Ilie Oană stadium, FC Petrolul played its final pre‑season friendly against Liga II side Chindia Târgoviște, ending the match in a 2‑2 draw (1‑1 at halftime). Jerdea opened the scoring for Petrolul in the 22nd minute, followed by a quick equaliser from Băluță (27). Rodrigo Martins restored the lead in the second half (56) with a lob over the keeper, but Rareș Mihai equalised five minutes later (64).

The result caps a mixed preparation period that included two wins, two draws and two defeats in six friendlies. The club, under new head coach Ricardo Sousa, entered the campaign with 14 recent signings, including Robert Jerdea, Alejandro Bran and Leo Teixeira. Petrolul’s first league fixture is slated for 19 July against Dinamo at the same venue.
