FCSB dismisses coach Marius Baciu as Reghecampf prepares for return

FCSB has officially terminated the contract of head coach Marius Baciu and his staff, including Sorin Bucuroaia and Alexandru Ioniță, following a 0-5 loss to Universitatea Craiova. Baciu, who took over in May, reportedly received an offer from CS Oxigen, a club supported by the Sector 2 Bucharest Mayor, shortly after his departure.

In response to the coaching changes, club owner Gigi Becali announced the imminent return of Laurențiu Reghecampf for a third mandate. Reghecampf is expected to be presented officially on Thursday and will bring staff members Viorel Dinu and Adrian Popa. Additionally, Becali expressed willingness to re-hire Mihai Pintilii, provided Reghecampf requests him, following Pintilii's resignation from Levadiakos in Greece due to personal reasons.

In other football news, Romania's national team coach Gică Hagi has decided that the squad will not hold official training sessions in Sweden, Poland, or Bosnia ahead of their Nations League matches, opting instead for a full training session in Mogoșoaia before traveling. Meanwhile, referee Istvan Kovacs has faced criticism for recent performances; fellow official Cristi Balaj noted that Kovacs has been struggling following the recent passing of his father.
