Petronà blood donor rally draws large crowds

The seventh gathering of the municipal Avis blood donor group in Petronà took place on Sunday, 28 June 2026 at the Manulata wildlife oasis. The event, organized by the Avis "Beniamino Perri" association and coordinated by the youth team under Miriam Olivo, featured music, food and entertainment and attracted a large number of participants, including religious, civil and military representatives.

More than 500 volunteers are active in the local chapter, which also serves the nearby towns of Andali, Cerva and Belcastro. The rally promoted the message “Donating blood means donating hope,” emphasizing the importance of regular donations for accident victims, surgery patients and those with chronic illnesses. Italy records about 1,800 transfusions each year, highlighting the community’s role in supporting the national blood supply.

The event showcases strong local civic engagement and the ongoing effort to raise awareness about blood donation in the region.
