Petronà unveils new mural by artist Andrea Bolotta
The municipality of Petronà has inaugurated a large-scale mural in the heart of its town center to promote urban regeneration and local identity. Created by local street artist and teacher Andrea Bolotta, the artwork measures two and a half meters in height and four meters in length.
The mural features the inscription ‘Petronà il paese dei funghi e delle castagne’ (Petronà the town of mushrooms and chestnuts) and depicts the town's landscape, including its houses and church, overlooking the Ionian Sea near the Sila Piccola. Using a warm, earthy palette of sepia, ochre, and burnt sienna to evoke the autumn season, the piece incorporates mushrooms and chestnut burrs as symbolic guardians of the community.
