PETRONAS to integrate Agentic AI into upstream data platform

PETRONAS, through its Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM) division, has entered into an agreement with Iraya Energies Sdn Bhd to integrate Agentic AI capabilities into the PETRONAS myPROdata platform. The web-based system provides access to subsurface and surface data regarding exploration blocks, discovered resource opportunities, and producing fields in Malaysia.

The enhancement aims to allow the platform to autonomously analyze and connect geological, geophysical, and engineering data. This integration is designed to facilitate end-to-end evaluations of upstream opportunities, including resource assessment, development opportunity evaluation, and commercial viability studies.

By streamlining the analysis of complex data, PETRONAS intends to help investors make faster, more informed decisions. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to increase Malaysia’s attractiveness as an upstream investment destination, supporting the company’s goal of attracting between RM50 billion and RM60 billion in annual upstream investments.
