Petropar and Neualco SA partner to optimize sugar cane milling
Petróleos Paraguayos (Petropar) and Neualco SA have signed a strategic agreement to optimize the reception and milling of sugar cane in Mauricio José Troche, Guairá. The partnership aims to strengthen the national alcohol industry and address technical and operational limitations currently faced by the state-owned plant.
Under the agreement, which begins on October 1, registered sugar cane producers in the region can divert their raw materials to Neualco SA’s private mill. To ensure equity and transparency, the contract stipulates that producers will receive the same price for their cane at the private facility as the price set by Petropar for its own plant.
This measure is intended to alleviate pressure on Petropar’s processing capacity. With the harvest in a decisive stage and significant quantities of cane still in the field, the ability to transfer mechanized cane to a private mill provides a necessary alternative to ensure all production is processed.
