Petroperú appoints Oliver Stark as board president amid governance overhaul

Petroperú’s board approved a new corporate structure on 5 August 2026, creating an Internal Audit Management, a Risk Management unit and a Head of Anti‑Money‑Laundering and Terrorist Financing, all reporting directly to the board. The changes were presented as a move to strengthen corporate governance, risk management, regulatory compliance and internal controls.

The same meeting installed a Special Purpose Vehicle to facilitate new domestic and international financing for the company’s liquidity and operational continuity. On 7 August 2026 the shareholders’ general meeting named Oliver Thomas Alexander Stark Preuss as president of the board, replacing the previous leadership. New directors appointed include César Burga Rivera, Daniel Cabrera Ortega, Víctor Andrés Belaúnde Gutiérrez, while Carlos Adrián Linares Peñaloza remains on the board and worker representative Néstor Herrera Guerrero continues his role.
