Petroperú secures US$475 million in initial financing from international banks

Petroperú has secured an initial disbursement of US$475 million as part of a larger credit line that could reach up to US$2 billion. The financing, provided by international banks including JP Morgan and Citibank, is intended to strengthen the state-owned company's working capital and ensure the continuity of its operations, specifically for the acquisition of crude oil and the processing of fuels.

According to ProInversión, the operation does not utilize public treasury resources. This financial milestone occurs alongside the formation of a new Board of Directors led by Oliver Stark, which aims to improve corporate governance and restore market confidence. The reorganization process is being managed by ProInversión under the Ministry of Economy and Finance to optimize assets and prepare for potential private sector participation.
