PETROVIETNAM seeks to diversify crude oil supplies at APPEC 2026

A delegation from PETROVIETNAM, led by Deputy General Director Le Xuan Huyen, attended the 42nd Asia Pacific Petroleum Conference (APPEC 2026) in Singapore from September 6 to 10. The mission focused on promoting energy trade cooperation and diversifying crude oil and petroleum product supplies to enhance supply chain autonomy and national energy security amid market volatility and geopolitical risks.

During the conference, the delegation held high-level meetings with major international energy corporations and market information organizations, including Aramco Trading, Vitol, Chevron, S&P Global Energy, Trafigura, and Idemitsu International (Asia). The group also strengthened connections with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI).

Additionally, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical (BSR), a member of PETROVIETNAM, utilized the event to meet with partners and suppliers to seek new crude oil sources for the Dung Quat Refinery. This effort aligns with ongoing developments at the refinery, including the implementation of the EPC contract for its upgrade and expansion project.
