While wellness-related trips accounted for 8.3% of global tourist movements last year, they represented 17.6% of total spending, indicating that these travelers are willing to invest more in health, nutrition, and nature-based experiences.

Brazil holds the 11th largest position in the global wellness economy, with an estimated market value of US$ 125 billion in 2024. The city of Petrópolis is positioning itself to capitalize on this trend by leveraging its natural landscape, climate, and existing hospitality infrastructure.
