Petty theft incidents reported in Wiesbaden and Gemünden, Germany
On Saturday night, 27 June, a driver in Wiesbaden-Biebrich unintentionally dropped his smartphone near the Schlosspark. Three male youths, aged 16‑18, observed the owner returning, seized the phone and fled. The Wiesbaden police have opened an investigation for unlawful appropriation and are appealing for witnesses. The youths were described as follows: one 165‑170 cm tall with short dark‑blonde hair, a second about 180 cm with a Mediterranean appearance and long brown hair, and a third, also 16‑18, with no further details noted.
Earlier that morning, around 07:15 on 28 June, a separate theft occurred at the EDEKA parking area on Weißensteinstraße in Gemünden. An individual wearing a light‑coloured cowboy hat cut a bicycle lock, took the bike and escaped. The Gemünden police request information from the public and can be contacted at the listed number.
Both incidents are being investigated by local authorities, who encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward.
