Peugeot and Dacia adjust electric vehicle strategies
Major automotive manufacturers Peugeot and Dacia are adjusting their electrification strategies to better align with market demand.
Peugeot, part of the Stellantis group, has abandoned its 2021 pledge to offer an exclusively electric European lineup by 2030. Instead, the brand will adopt a multi-energy approach, balancing fully electric models with internal combustion and hybrid systems. While new electric models like the e-208 and e-2008 will utilize the new STLA One architecture, updated petrol and hybrid versions will remain on older platforms. CEO Alain Favey stated that Peugeot aims to increase annual sales from 1.1 million to 1.5 million by 2030.
