Peugeot launches electric E-208 GTi and tests new 208 generation
Peugeot is expanding its electric lineup with the introduction of the E-208 GTi, the brand's first fully electric GTi model. The vehicle features a 281-horsepower (207 kW) motor producing 345 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. Developed by Peugeot Sport and Peugeot Design, the model includes performance enhancements such as a lowered chassis, widened tracks, and a mechanical limited-slip differential.
In addition to the GTi variant, testing is underway for the next generation of the Peugeot 208 in Spain. This upcoming model is expected to undergo significant design and technological shifts, drawing inspiration from the Inception concept. Key features include the STLA Smart Cockpit, a rectangular 'Hypersquare' steering wheel, and an electronic steering system designed to support advanced autonomous driving assistants. The new generation will utilize the STLA Small architecture and the STLA Brain software platform to enable centralized electronic processing and remote updates.
