Peugeot to launch new electric 2008 SUV on STLA One platform by 2028

Peugeot is preparing a major overhaul of its B‑SUV line, with the next‑generation 2008 and 208 built on Stellantis' new STLA One electric architecture. The platform will use a 60‑70 kWh LFP battery delivering up to roughly 500 km of WLTP range, feature steer‑by‑wire and a futuristic Hypersquare steering console, and could be offered in a sport‑tuned GTI variant. Production will remain at Stellantis’ plant in Viga, Spain, with the 208 expected in 2027 and the 2008 slated for market launch in 2028.

In parallel, Peugeot is promoting the 2008 Hybrid GT, a mild‑hybrid version powered by a 1.2‑litre gasoline engine delivering 145 PS paired with a dual‑clutch e‑DCS automatic. The model adds the i‑Cockpit digital instrument cluster, a large infotainment touchscreen and a suite of driver‑assist features, positioning it as a premium yet efficient option in the compact SUV segment.
