Páez municipality begins 50-hectare rice harvest under Plan Semilla

In the Páez municipality, the harvest of 50 hectares of rice has commenced under the 'Plan Semilla' initiative. This program, driven by the local mayor's office in coordination with local communes, aims to multiply high-quality seeds and strengthen regional food sovereignty.

Mayor José Ángel Ramírez noted that the operation is supported by national and regional authorities, including the Municipal Institute for Development and Production (IMDEPRO). To optimize field work, the municipality has reactivated essential agricultural machinery, including a rehabilitated harvester and a recovered tractor, to support local producers and ensure a self-sustaining production model.
