Pezeshkian sets condition for reopening Strait of Hormuz
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is conditional upon the United States ending its blockade and sanctions against Iran. Speaking to India Today, Pezeshkian remarked that while the sea route is not the primary way of life for the nation, the country will not be intimidated by maritime pressure.
Regarding regional cooperation, Pezeshkian announced that an agreement between Iran and Oman concerning a shared route in the Strait of Hormuz is set to be signed in Muscat this coming Monday. The signing will reportedly take place in the presence of Arab foreign ministers, who will then notify the International Maritime Organization. The President noted that the meeting includes countries from whose territory previous attacks on Iran were launched.
