Pfaff Motorsports Lamborghini wins at Virginia International Raceway
Andrea Caldarelli and Sandy Mitchell secured their second consecutive victory in the GTD PRO class at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship during the Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway. Driving the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Lamborghini Temerario GT3, the duo led 69 of the 84 laps in the two-hour, 40-minute race.
The win marks Lamborghini’s first WeatherTech Championship victory at the VIR facility since 2017. The podium was completed by Ford Racing, with Ben Barker and Dennis Olsen taking second place in the No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3, followed by Frederic Vervisch and Christopher Mies in the No. 65 entry.
This performance moves Caldarelli and Mitchell into third place in the GTD PRO championship standings, trailing the leaders, Paul Miller Racing’s BMW M4 GT3 EVO, and Corvette Racing’s Corvette Z06 GT3.R.
