The 24th Pfizer Medical Awards, organized by the National Academy of Medicine of Korea and sponsored by Pfizer Korea, have announced three recipients for their contributions to medical science.

Professor Jang Bo-geun of Jeju National University received the Basic Medical Science Award for his research using organoids and spatial transcriptomics to clarify the biological differences in gastric intestinal metaplasia, providing new insights into the mechanisms of gastric cancer development.

Professor Kim Jung-sun of Yonsei University was honored with the Clinical Medical Science Award. His large-scale randomized clinical trial demonstrated that oral anticoagulant monotherapy is more advantageous for stable atrial fibrillation patients one year after stent procedures.
