Pforzheim begins demolition of historic Technical Town Hall for Schlossberghöfe redevelopment

From August, the former Technical Town Hall in Pforzheim will be demolished, marking the start of the second construction phase of the Schlossberghöfe city‑quarter project. Investor Ten Brinke announced the removal of the building after it has been cleared and stripped, and also plans to dismantle adjacent old commercial structures on Östliche Karl‑Friedrich‑Straße.

The cleared sites will be used to construct three new buildings by summer 2029, providing subsidised rental housing, retail, gastronomy, commercial space, an additional kindergarten, underground parking and public open areas. The first phase already delivered a new Technical Town Hall with a kindergarten in 2025, which has been handed over to the city. Mayor Peter Boch described the project as one of the most significant urban‑development initiatives of recent decades, emphasizing its expected impact on the city centre’s vibrancy and accessibility.
