Pforzheim Limits Bulk Waste Pickup in August Ahead of New Contractor Switch

The city of Pforzheim, Germany, will operate a reduced bulk‑waste (Sperrmüll) collection service during August as it prepares for a change of waste‑management provider. The new contractor is scheduled to start on 1 September 2026, so only limited collection slots will be available in the remaining summer weeks.

Residents are asked to accept minor delays in appointment scheduling and may alternatively bring up to three cubic metres of bulk waste themselves to designated waste‑disposal sites once a year. A bulk‑waste permit can be requested via e‑mail, phone or in person at the service centre on Heinrich‑Witzemann‑Straße 13. The facilities, including the Hohberg centre, Huchenfeld, Büchenbronn and Eutingen sites, operate on regular weekday and Saturday hours.

The city will notify citizens when unrestricted appointment booking resumes in September.

Entities: City of Pforzheim · New waste disposal contractor (effective 1 Sept 2026) · Pforzheim · Pforzheim Waste Management Authority
