Pfutsero Business Association seeks lower power tariffs and reliable supply

The Pfutsero Town Business Association (PTBA) has called on the Nagaland Department of Power to review high commercial electricity tariffs, citing an increasing financial burden on local businesses. PTBA leadership, including President Vekusu Chuzho and General Secretary Truvi Rhi, requested a more business-friendly tariff structure and the implementation of subsidy mechanisms to protect small traders and entrepreneurs from rising operating costs.

In addition to pricing concerns, the association highlighted decades of unreliability regarding the 33 KV power supply through the Meluri line. Frequent interruptions have disrupted business operations and increased costs for consumers. To address these infrastructure issues, the PTBA urged the government to fast-track the completion of the 132 KV sub-station at Rikizu, Pfutsero, with a goal of providing a reliable and uninterrupted power supply by November 2026.
