PGA increases Kelantan border security and seizes undocumented cattle

The Pasukan Gerakan Am (PGA) Southeast Brigade has increased security measures and conducted enforcement operations in Kelantan.

In a recent operation in Pasir Mas, PGA officers intercepted a suspicious truck in Kampung Taman. The vehicle was found to be transporting six cattle weighing approximately 2,400 kilograms, valued at RM36,000, without complete or valid documentation. The 25-year-old driver was detained, and the livestock was handed over to the Kelantan State Veterinary Services Department. The case is being investigated under Section 36(1) of the Animals Act 1953.

Separately, PGA Commander SAC Ahmad Radzi Hussain stated that border security between Malaysia and Thailand has been tightened as a precautionary measure following recent violence in Southern Thailand. While there is currently no information regarding militants or guerrillas attempting to enter Kelantan, authorities are on high alert. Current border concerns remain focused on the entry of undocumented immigrants. Security cooperation continues through the Regional Border Committee (RBC) to facilitate information exchange.
