PGA Tour Championship field set as Lim Seong-jae fights for qualification

The field for the 2026 PGA Tour Championship is being finalized as the FedEx Cup playoffs progress. The season-ending event, which features a $40 million purse, will take place at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, from August 27–30, 2026. The tournament is restricted to the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings following the BMW Championship.

South Korean golfer Lim Seong-jae is currently fighting to secure his eighth consecutive qualification for the Tour Championship. Entering the BMW Championship ranked 40th in the FedEx Cup, Lim requires a high-level performance to climb into the top 30. After a third round at Belle Haven Country Club where he recorded an even par, Lim sits in a position to potentially secure a top-seven finish, which he previously identified as his requirement for qualification.

The championship field is headlined by prominent players including Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Cameron Young. The event serves as the 37th tournament of the 2026 season and the final stage of the playoffs to determine the FedEx Cup champion.
