PGA TOUR players support child with cerebral palsy in Punta Cana

PGA TOUR players participated in a community event in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, to support Ziara Betancourt, a six-year-old girl living with cerebral palsy. The meeting, held at the Centro de la Diversidad Infantil Puntacana (CEDI), focused on inclusion and perseverance.

During the visit, the golfers were introduced to the story of Ziara, who was born prematurely at 29 weeks. Her mother, Milca Betancourt, presented her children's book, ‘Mami juega con Nigo’, which was inspired by Ziara's daily experiences to promote family reading and support for caregivers.

This initiative was part of the Sponsor Value Program for the Corales Puntacana Championship 2026. The championship, which featured 144 professional players and a US$4 million purse, utilizes the Puntacana Foundation to connect professional sports with local social impact projects like CEDI.
